THE ROLE
The primary responsibilities are to book and develop events at Toyota Arena and ONT Field. Candidate must show initiative, be highly motivated, extremely organized, and have a great personality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with agents, managers, promoters, and producers to book concerts, non-concert events, family shows, and other venue content in order to maintain a full calendar of events.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key touring industry professionals, including agents, managers, promoters, and producers.
  • Manages booking calendar, including adding, editing and/or removing events and event holds, and responds to building availability requests (external and internal) in a timely manner.
  • Researches and prepare data that supports the booking efforts for a variety of events.
  • Collaborates on the creation of memorable venue experience for artist and tour personnel.
  • Attends industry conferences (IEBA / Billboard) to gain knowledge and build relationships.
  • Generates new business through cold-calling and follow leads by attending industry events and setting up local meetings.
  • Monitors ticket counts, on sale ticket counts, and final show ticket counts.
  • Compiles and maintain all event show folders with contracts, certificates of insurance, and general event correspondence, including final artist and venue settlement information.
  • Assists in the preparation and design of promoter guides, advertisements, and other promotional materials.
  • Develops and maintain a collaborative and productive working relationship with all venue departments.
  • Aggressively promotes the creative use of the different spaces and areas at both venues (Toyota Arena and ONT Field) to increase bookings.
  • Negotiates deal points in event license agreements as necessary and in the best interests of the venues.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with all clients (promoters, agents, managers) before, during, and post-event to encourage repeat business.
  • Assists and coordinates with the development of the annual operating calendar, activity schedules, and reports on projections for attendance and/or revenue.
  • Conducts post-event operational and financial review and analysis.
  • Present for live events, representing the booking team and venue(s).
  • Provides administrative support to the department as needed.
  • Processes documents of a moderately complex and confidential nature such as event calendars, venue costs, deal point memos, and confirmation memorandums.
  • Maintains department historical data and records for the venues.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Advertising or Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience booking large scale events and collaborating directly with agents and promoters within the industry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, organizational ability, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the music and performance industry
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Computer skills including Microsoft office and other marketing specific programs.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work simultaneously with a broad variety of internal and external vested interest groups to foster a cooperative environment.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the entertainment industry.
  • Strong orientation towards hospitality and excellent customer service for the entertainment industry
  • Basic knowledge of venue operating standards, building maintenance, custodial, personnel and office management
