What this job involves:
As a Boiler Room Operator at JLL, you will monitor and operate key facility systems and equipment, contributing to our clients' operational excellence and energy efficiency. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-performance environment by addressing preventative and corrective maintenance needs while ensuring continuous operation of all boiler room functions. Your expertise with boilers, chilled water systems, and water treatment will ensure our operations run smoothly, directly supporting JLL's commitment to excellence in facilities management and client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Monitor and operate boiler and utility system equipment

  • Make necessary adjustments to main plant equipment

  • Troubleshoot equipment and respond to building automation or alarm systems

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance

  • Conduct chemical analysis to optimize system performance

  • Complete corrective maintenance as needed

  • Answer boiler room and facilities department phones and dispatch personnel

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, calls, and operational logs

  • Research and order supplies as required

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 3-5 years of related facilities or boiler room experience

  • Class 4 NIULPE power engineer's license

  • Working knowledge of boiler systems and operations

  • Ability to operate and understand diagnostic and computer equipment

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks

  • Availability for variable shifts under close supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of water treatment and chemical analysis

  • Familiarity with building automation and alarm systems

  • Basic knowledge of computer operations beyond diagnostics

  • Attention to detail in documentation and reporting

  • Strong communication and phone-handling skills

  • Ability to research and order supplies efficiently

Estimated compensation for this position:

79,040.00 - 104,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
