Boat Mechanic- (Ottawa, IL)

Position Overview
We are hiring Boat Mechanics to support a service operation in Ottawa, Illinois. This role focuses on winterizations, bearing repairs, and general boat maintenance.

Candidates with Mercury Marine certifications are strongly preferred. We welcome entrylevel applicants as well as experienced and highly skilled marine technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform boat winterizations accurately and efficiently
  • Repair and replace bearings and related components
  • Complete basic boat maintenance, inspections, and tune-ups
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and engine issues
  • Assist with engine rebuilds (for advanced skill levels)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines, especially Mercury Marine standards
  • Communicate clearly with customers and team members
Qualifications
  • Mercury Certification preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with marine engines
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and diagnostic issues
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Willingness to work seasonally with a winter break period
