Job Duties:

  • Diagnose the cause of the malfunction and perform the repair. Examine the product to determine if further service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicate with the service department regarding further work and evaluate promise times.
  • Mount outboard engines on boats.
  • Install marine electronics, trolling motors, and other accessories.
  • Working on all aspects of boats, motors, and trailers.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain the parts needed.
  • Ensure the customersโ€™ products are kept clean and notify the service manager of anything that changes the appearance or condition of the product.
  • Conduct boat detailing and cleaning.
  • Attend product training and seminars if available.
  • Work Saturdays during peak season, then as part of a rotation schedule.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous marine or small engine repair experience required
  • Ability to install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varying hours based on business needs
  • Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety practices relevant to the role
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including bending, lifting heavy equipment, and working in confined spaces
  • High level of professionalism, including respect for customer property and maintaining a clean work environment
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
