Overview

Join Colliers Engineering & Design as a SUE Data Analyst in Albany, NY, and play a key role in shaping the future of infrastructure. In this dynamic position, you’ll transform complex subsurface utility engineering (SUE) data into clear, actionable insights that drive smarter design and reduce risk on critical projects. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll leverage cutting-edge tools and geospatial technologies to ensure data accuracy, enhance project efficiency, and support innovative engineering solutions. Responsibilities
  • Attend project kickoff meetings (in person or virtually) to coordinate project workflows.
  • Setup and maintain project applications in Basecamp, Fulcrum, Bluebeam or similar.
  • Receive and process field data from Fulcrum, Basecamp, Bluebeam and/or other software applications as developed.
  • QA/QC data received and determine need for remedial collection as necessary. Provide updates on data collection to project team as well as any need for additional data.
  • Coordinate with survey staff to ensure proper survey collection of utility data, provide survey staff with package of Fulcrum, Bluebeam and Basecamp data to facilitate data collection.
  • Coordinate with CADD staff for drafting of utility data, provide package of Fulcrum, Bluebeam and Basecamp data to facilitate drafting and review.
  • Coordinate with project team to review all data collected, QA/QC output, review CADD drafting and ensure quality of data for client deliverable.
  • Coordinate with departmental admin staff to organize and maintain proper filing of project and general information.
  • Attend conferences and training seminars as necessary to learn of new applications and equipment in the utility space to maintain competitive edge in marketplace.
  • Provide clients with proper back-up data (designating reports, test hole reports, field sketches, CAD files, etc.).
  • Coordinate with local municipalities to obtain proper certifications and permits for SUE work in their jurisdictions.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in SUE or closely related field.
  • Ability to designate all utilities using surface geophysical equipment, including RF Pipe and Cable Locators, Ground Penetrating Radar, and electromagnetic induction devices.
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work well with and communicate with others
  • Strong written and oral communication skill.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proficient in MS Office, BlueBeam, Fulcrum and/or other related software.
  • Excel in the ability to learn, apply and teach others technical skills and knowledge.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $61,320 to $99,855 per year (depending on qualifications)
