Job description

Overview

A specialist in high-end custom cabinetry and architectural millwork is urgently seeking a Senior Project Manager and Estimator to join their growing team in Naperville, IL. This firm is known for its craftsmanship, precision, and dedication to quality, serving both commercial and bespoke residential clients. The ideal candidate will bring a rare blend of project leadership and estimating expertise, with a background in woodworking or architectural interiors. This is a high-impact role combining client interaction, technical estimating, and project execution in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for overseeing custom woodworking projects from bid through completion - managing client expectations, estimating costs accurately, and ensuring quality execution on every job. The successful candidate will liaise closely with clients, internal teams, and vendors, and will have a clear understanding of millwork processes and pricing structures. This is an on-site role based in Naperville, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Lead projects from initial estimate through to completion, acting as both estimator and project manager

  • Generate accurate and timely estimates using Innergy and other internal tools

  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, and contractors to understand scope, specifications, and expectations

  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for custom woodworking jobs

  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination

  • Track project milestones, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards are met

  • Work collaboratively with internal design and production teams to ensure seamless project execution

  • Resolve site issues promptly, maintaining high client satisfaction throughout

Requirements
  • Proven experience in custom cabinetry, millwork, or architectural woodworking industries

  • Strong background in both project management and estimating roles

  • Proficiency with Innergy software (required)

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and millwork shop drawings

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

  • Experience managing multiple high-end custom projects simultaneously

  • Comfortable working in a client-facing capacity with strong interpersonal skills

  • Local to the Naperville, IL area or open to a reasonable commute

Salary
  • Base salary: $90,000 – $95,000

  • Target earnings: $110,000+ with commission/bonuses

  • Flexibility for the right candidate

Location

On-site — Naperville, IL

Benefits
  • Performance-based bonus/commission structure

  • Flexible compensation for high-performing candidates

  • Work with a highly specialized, design-focused team

  • Opportunities for long-term growth in a custom-built environment
