Job description

Position Overview

The Roofing Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for roofing projects, ensuring compliance with Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County requirements. The role involves analyzing blueprints, using industry-standard estimating software, and collaborating with project managers and clients to deliver competitive bids.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate roofing project estimates for commercial and occasional residential jobs.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and requirements.

  • Utilize estimating software (Estimating Edge, Bluebeam, Planswift) to generate cost proposals.

  • Create 2D or 3D drawings using AutoCAD to support project planning.

  • Ensure all estimates meet Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County product approval requirements.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scopes and budgets.

  • Perform site visits as needed to gather measurements, assess conditions, and verify project details.

  • Track costs, materials, and labor for ongoing and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy.

  • Meet deadlines for bid submissions and support the team in securing profitable contracts.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of roofing estimating experience (commercial focus preferred).

  • Proficiency in Estimating Edge, Bluebeam, and Planswift.

  • Skilled in AutoCAD for 2D/3D drawings.

  • In-depth knowledge of Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County approvals.

  • Strong math, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work 2 Saturdays per month to meet project deadlines.

  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field (asset but not required).
