Position Summary:
The SIUE Foundation seeks a skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented Database Manager - SIUE Foundation to oversee the administration, performance, integrity, and security of the Foundation's constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, with primary responsibility for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
This role is essential to advancing alumni engagement, donor relations, and fundraising strategies across the university. The Database Manager will serve as a technical leader, data steward, and problem-solver, ensuring accurate, reliable, and actionable data to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and related systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement solutions
  • Manage regular imports and updates of constituent data, including alumni, donors, faculty/staff records, employment data, and prospect screenings
  • Design and maintain queries, reports, and data exports to support fundraising strategy and leadership decision-making
  • Conduct routine data audits, de-duplication, and integrity checks to maintain high-quality data standards
  • Develop and document database policies, procedures, and data governance guidelines
  • Train and support end users, provide technical guidance, and communicate system updates
  • Ensure compliance with data retention schedules, privacy regulations, and security protocols

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
  1. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
    • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
    • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
    • Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
  2. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.

3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required
AND
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software)
  • General knowledge of fundraising and basic accounting
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
