Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:  Promote and enhance the ministry of classroom teachers during short-term subbing assignments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Vital characteristics and behaviors:

  • Incarnates BJA’s mission and guiding principles
  • Communicates the religious beliefs of BJA to elementary age students and student affiliates
  •  Answers questions concerning faith, doctrine, and creed of BJA to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJA
  • Manages classroom in an age-appropriate manner
  • Communicates effectively (written and spoken word)

Promote and enhance the ministry of the classroom teacher by:

  • Supporting classroom culture and expectations
  • Ensuring academic continuity by following the teacher’s sub plans
  • Adapting plans when appropriate

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Familiar with a Christian school environment
  • Comfortable in a digital environment and able to learn new systems as needed
  • Ability to implement teaching instructions
  • Steady under pressure
