Raytheon is hiring electrical engineers with an emphasis in RF communications and antenna system design and is part of the Raytheon Cooperative Education Program (Co-op). This is a part-time, remote role targeting senior or postgraduate students in electrical engineering with an expected graduation date of May 2027 or August 2027.

  • Upon selection, Co-op participants will complete a Co-op Program Agreement and will be submitted for a U.S. Government security clearance, including completion of the Standard Form 86 (SF-86).
  • Raytheon will sponsor you for a U.S. government security clearance, and Co-op participants must maintain eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance throughout the program and subsequent employment.
  • After completing your degree, program and clearance requirements, you will be considered for a full-time role with Raytheon, onsite in Aurora, CO
  • Employment is at-will, and the program may end if academic, employment, or clearance requirements are not met

What You Will Do

  • Support planning and execution of analysis, integration and verification, as well as troubleshoot test activities in our labs or OPS environments
  • Support failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes with the use of advanced lab or field test equipment
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Support preparation and presentation of results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Support activities related to test and troubleshooting of hardware
  • Support root-cause analysis & implement minor design changes
  • Maintain engineering specifications, drawings and engineering databases
  • Participate in engineering tag ups and meetings between the Program, System Engineering, and the Chief Engineer
  • Resolve and coordinate system technical solutions with Engineering teams
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support for mockup hardware, sustainment/depot returns and repair
  • After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting RF Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Masters'sdegree in Electrical Engineering with an expected graduation date of May 2027 or August 2027
  • Academic or internship experience that includes hands-on testing of electronic equipment
  • Exposure troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby to include the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.)
  • Exposure to data analysis using tools such as MATLAB
  • Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, Ansys HFSS or Python for data analysis and automation

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Proficient use of Windows or UNIX platforms
  • Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages
  • Exposure to Agile Development Principles
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous internship experience
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, communications protocols
  • Exposure to reflector system design, antenna feed design, solid state amplifiers performance parameters, high power tube amplifiers technology
  • Exposure with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work effectively with others (or coworkers).

Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
