Overview

The Billing Analyst will support the client service teams, field organization, corporate accounting department, client accounting and communications personnel to ensure accurate, timely billing. The associate should be an autonomous and critical thinker with strong communication and inter-personal skills.ย  This role will be primarily responsible for quality control of day-to-day billing / revenue activities, month-end close tasks, financial summaries and miscellaneous ad-hoc requests in support of a major automotive account.

You will report to the Director, Marketing Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze contract terms and details to assure accuracy prior to generating invoices
  • Perform multiple quality controls across all tier 3 client billing
  • Prepare and quality check a high volume of multi-line billing files and invoice requests daily
  • Provide supporting documentation in a timely manner as required to corporate billing department
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and submit credit/rebill requests as needed
  • Prepare and analyze billing reports for review by management
  • Assist Account Management and Sales Teams with accounting related questions
  • Manage and prioritize competing requests from internal and external partners
  • Manipulate and analyze accounting data for reporting or reconciliation purposes
  • Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
  • Responsible for day-to-day billing/revenue/cost recognition activities including month-end close tasks and miscellaneous ad-hoc requests
  • Create billing data outputs and coordinate delivery / follow-up with client
  • Support the Marketing Operations group with various continuous improvement projects outside of billing
  • Troubleshoot data issues / errors internally and with account and marketing clientsย ย 
  • Provide innovative proposals to enhance the efficiency of the billing operation
  • Manage relationship with client partners
  • Interact with internal accounts receivable and payable teammates daily
  • Collaborate to generate internal financial forecasting documents
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks without supervision
  • Document all billing associated processes and workflows
Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the account management team, field sales team, corporate accounting department and management without supervision
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley Education

Education & Experience:

  • Junior leveled marketing experience required (1-3 years)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Accounting/Billing/Finance related subject area
  • Minimum 1-3 years of billing/accounting related experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of advertising/marketing agency experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Access experience

Compensation Range: $49,305 - $65,415annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
