Summary:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at Pacific Seafood plays a key role on our IT/Data team, helping transform raw data into actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decisions. This position focuses on building and maintaining reporting solutions, dashboards, and data models that provide visibility into business performance. It is ideal for someone who is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate about using data to improve processes and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application Support & Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
  • Translate business requirements into technical data models and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance of reporting solutions.
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment of BI solutions in coordination with development and business teams.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts on large-scale data and reporting initiatives

2. Data Warehousing & System Support:
  • Support and maintain data warehouse environments and data pipelines to ensure data availability and reliability.
  • Assist in data integration efforts from multiple sources into centralized BI platforms.

3. Data Management & Governance:
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Support data migrations, data refresh processes, and backup procedures as required.
  • Document data models, data definitions, ETL processes, and reporting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.

4. Business Collaboration & Analytics Support:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and reports for various business units.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of BI processes and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on BI tools and best practices.

5. Duties:
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Exigence, Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all items
  • Responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of BI and analytics solutions.
  • Develop integrations between ERP systems and BI/reporting platforms.
  • Perform analysis needed to support the multiple areas of the business in their day-to-day use of the application
  • Manage multiple project priorities to successfully deliver solutions to our business owners within defined timelines
  • Troubleshoot, identify and fix application bugs
  • Provide information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Support the systems afterhours as part of the on-call rotation
  • Follow IT change management process
  • Ability to collaborate with the Solutions Architect on projects that span multiple technologies and systems

What you bring to Pacific Seafood
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Power BI.

Preferred:
  • Understand basic data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience creating digital forms (e.g., GoFormz, Microsoft Forms, etc.)
