Job description

Registered Nurse

Legacy Behavioral Health is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) in Valdosta Georgia. The Registered Nurse will be clinically competent while delivering care to consumers utilizing the nursing processes of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. RNs will effectively interact with consumers, significant others and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.

The Registered Nurse promotes the physical and mental health of consumers by applying the nursing processes. The position is a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and has the goal of assisting consumers to assume responsibility for their own health. The position coordinates and monitors medical care, including psychiatric and medication services in accord with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual consumer needs.

This position requires:

  • Must have a current Georgia RN license.
  • BSN preferred.
  • 2 years minimum experience in psychiatric nursing, preferred.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified or to obtain certification. Must be physically able to perform CPR.
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
  • Must be able to identify and report any adverse side effects of medication to the physician.
  • Must have excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Individuals in this position must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching as well as lifting and supporting patients.
