Position Summary

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager and Director of Food & Beverage in overseeing the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets at Mountain Lake Lodge. This position plays a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining service standards, and supporting operational efficiency across restaurant, bar, banquet, and event operations.

This leader assists with staff supervision, service execution, training, and operational coordination to ensure the highest level of hospitality is delivered to every guest. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager helps maintain the lodgeโ€™s service culture while supporting financial goals, operational standards, and team development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Standards

โ€ข Ensure exceptional guest service across all food and beverage outlets.

โ€ข Support service teams in delivering memorable dining experiences aligned with Mountain Lake Lodge hospitality standards.

โ€ข Address guest concerns or service recovery needs promptly and professionally.

โ€ข Maintain visible leadership presence during peak service periods.

Operations Management

โ€ข Assist in daily operation of restaurant, bar, banquet, and special event service.

โ€ข Support outlet opening and closing procedures.

โ€ข Monitor service flow, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

โ€ข Assist with staffing coverage during varying occupancy levels.

โ€ข Support seasonal programming and special dining experiences.

Team Leadership & Training

โ€ข Assist in supervising and coaching front-of-house food and beverage team members.

โ€ข Support onboarding and training of new associates.

โ€ข Reinforce Mountain Lake Lodge service culture and communication standards.

โ€ข Assist with scheduling, shift assignments, and operational briefings.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety

Collaboration

Qualifications

โ€ข 2โ€“4 years of food and beverage leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a resort, hotel, or full-service restaurant environment.

โ€ข Strong understanding of restaurant and banquet service operations.

โ€ข Excellent guest service and hospitality mindset.

โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

โ€ข Ability to multitask and prioritize operational needs.

โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and POS systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

โ€ข Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally.

โ€ข Ability to work in indoor and outdoor service environments.

Work Schedule Expectations

This is a full-time salaried leadership position. Scheduling will vary based on business demands and resort operations.

The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required by resort operations.
