Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist supports vehicle development and cubing activities by managing parts, materials, and inventory throughout the build process. This role is responsible for ensuring all required components are ordered, tracked, staged, and ready to support the assembly of complete prototype and reference vehicles. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, highly organized, and capable of working independently within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Parts Management & Traceability

- Manage all parts, materials, and fasteners required throughout the Cubing and Reference Vehicle processes.

- Maintain complete traceability and location tracking of all parts before, during, and after cubing events.- Ensure required parts can be quickly located and retrieved to support build activities.- Track and maintain part status, including receipt, staging, installation, and final disposition.


Order Tracking & Coordination

- Manage the ordering and tracking process for all inbound parts supporting Cubing and Reference Vehicle programs.

- Monitor delivery schedules and ensure parts arrive according to program timing requirements.

- Escalate supply chain or delivery concerns when parts are delayed or unavailable.

- Provide accurate updates regarding part availability, inventory status, and order progress.


Inventory Control & Warehouse Organization

- Manage physical inventory, including receiving, inspection, storage, staging, and disposal activities.

- Coordinate parts intake and check-in processes for shipped and hand-carried components.

- Organize inventory areas and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

- Support packaging breakdown, material handling, cleanup, and disposal activities following cubing events.

- Maintain organized inventory locations to ensure efficient part retrieval.


Systems & Documentation


Utilize company systems and tools, including:

- SAP

- AU Global

- Inventory Management Applications

- Build Lists

- Matrix Tracking Systems

- 3D Concepts/CAD Data

- Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation.

- Generate reports and communicate inventory and parts status to internal and customer teams.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Strong organizational and administrative skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and support customer-facing operations.


Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, prototype vehicle builds, logistics, inventory control, or materials management.

- Basic CAD knowledge and ability to interpret 3D concepts or engineering data.

- Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.

- Understanding of vehicle development, prototype builds, or engineering support activities.


Pay Transparency & EEO

Pay: $48,000 - $50,000 year. The compensation range listed for this position reflects the anticipated base pay at the time of posting.
