Position Type:             Music Teacher  - Full-Time

School:                        Greenbrook Elementary School

Role:
The Elementary School Music Teacher provides engaging and developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in grades K5. The teacher creates a positive learning environment that fosters a lifelong appreciation of music while developing students' musical knowledge, skills, and creativity. Instruction includes singing, rhythm and movement, music literacy, listening skills, instrument performance, and creative expression.

The Music Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based music instruction, assessing student progress, and communicating student growth to families. Additional responsibilities include organizing and directing musical performances, leading choral and/or instrumental ensembles, and coordinating the district musical production. The teacher collaborates with staff, students, and families to promote a comprehensive and enriching music education program that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all learners.       

Reports to:                  Building Principal

Employment:               181 days per collective bargaining agreement with the Keeneyville Education Association.

Qualifications: 

  • Professional Educator Illinois License registered in DuPage
  • Music Education teaching experience within the last five years preferred
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification or willingness to obtain training
