Job description

Job Title: Upper School Front Desk Receptionist

Division: Upper School **
Reports to:** Head of Upper School

Summary:

King School seeks an experienced Front Desk Receptionist with excellent customer service skills to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for the Upper School and to play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Upper School office. This position requires professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills working with students, parents, faculty, and visitors. The position handles the flow of students, faculty, staff and visitors through the Upper School main entrance and ensures that all reception responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. This role includes a variety of tasks such as receiving visitors, managing phone calls, supporting the administrative needs of the Head of Upper School, and maintaining office security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist students, parents, faculty, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls, taking messages as needed.
  • Monitor student attendance, late arrivals, early dismissals and maintain accurate records.
  • Support daily office operations and general administrative tasks.
  • Order and maintain office and school supplies.
  • Assist with communication between parents, students, and school staff.
  • Open and secure main entry doors, ensuring campus safety protocols are followed.
  • Submit and track facilities work orders as needed.
  • Provide general clerical and organizational support to the Upper School office team.
  • Assisting with major events such as Graduation, Prize Day, Prom.
  • Update advisor sheets, faculty mailboxes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Upper School and Assistant to the Head of Upper School.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a business or related field of experience preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a school front office setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced school environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability.
  • Proficiency with basic office systems and technology ( i.e. MAC Book, MS Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint).
