Responsibilities

Ground Beef Superintendent responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting a Safe Work Environment
  • Assisting Manager in directing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of production area to maximize efficiencies and long and short-term profitability
  • Promoting and developing good relationships and high morale among fabrication employees and supervisors
  • Assisting and guiding supervisors through the Safety investigation/reporting process
  • Maintaining a good working relationship between the area departments and other Company departments as well as USDA
  • Directing daily operations to exceed daily production goals
  • Understanding and adhering to product and customer specifications and expectations
  • Maintaining high Food Safety and Food Quality Standards and adhering to all Food Safety Regulations
  • Understanding and adhering to the following programs
    • Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs)
    • Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCPs)
  • Developing and training management staff
  • Identifying and resolving process issues as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position.  This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Ground Beef Superintendent position should possess the following:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a beef plant environment

  • Proven leadership experience in a team environment

  • Staff management experience

  • Basic Computer skills

  • Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently

  • Excellent work ethic, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to make good business decisions quickly

  • Must be able to manage projects to a successful conclusion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong listening/comprehension skills

  • Ability and desire to stay composed and objective

  • Willingness and availability to work any shift

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.
