Job description

Job Description                                                                            Per Diem (On-Call)

Coordinates intra-department and intra-hospital transfers, ensuring continuity of all necessary communication between departments.

Job Responsibility

  • Assigns and facilitates patient bed assignments according to hospital patient aggregation.
  • Accepts phone calls from attending physician offices for direct admissions Reviews specific orders that may impact bed placement (i.e.: one-on-one constant observation, telemetry needs, pending lab specimens, admit orders for medicine teams).
  • Collects data for Zone alerts (admissions, discharges, bed demands/availability status of surge units, etc.).
  • Collates data from Teletracking to provide information needed for daily bed meeting template.
  • Escalates bed management problems to a registered nurse.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
