Job Summary:

Are you passionate about creating a positive work environment where Craft Professionals can succeed, develop their skills, and build long-term careers? Bechtel is seeking an enthusiastic Workforce Services professional to support engagement, retention, and recruitment initiatives across Bechtel’s North America Projects.

In partnership with Project Workforce Services teams and other functional partners, the successful candidate will support programs and strategies designed to strengthen the Craft Professional employee experience, promote a positive site culture, support employee wellbeing, and enhance Bechtel's position as an employer of choice within the construction industry.

This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with Projects across the organization, identify opportunities to improve engagement and retention outcomes, and support the implementation of workforce strategies to attract, train, and retain a skilled Craft Professional workforce.

This position will be based at Bechtel’s CityWest Houston office and report to Bechtel’s Workforce Services Supervisor – Engagement and Retention. This position may be eligible for part-time telework. 

Occasional travel may be required to support project workforce initiatives, recruitment events, and other engagement and retention activities across North America projects. #LI-TH1 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Craft Professional Engagement and Retention

    • Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of engagement and retention strategies across Bechtel’s North America projects.
    • Partner with project Workforce Services and Communications teams to identify opportunities to enhance the Craft Professional employee experience.
    • Support employee feedback initiatives, workforce surveys, focus groups, and other methods used to gather workforce insights.
    • Monitor workforce trends and provide recommendations to improve employee engagement, morale, and retention outcomes.
    • Promote initiatives fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive site culture.

    Craft Professional Attraction

    • Support and drive development and execution of recruitment advertising campaigns to position Bechtel as the employer of choice.
    • Collaborate with Project and functional teams to monitor market trends, identifying opportunities to strengthen recruitment strategies.
    • Promote career opportunities and the benefits of a career in construction through support and participation in recruitment events, hiring fairs, and other workforce outreach activities.

    Corporate Engagement

    • Develop reports, presentations, and analyses related to workforce trends, strategy, program outcomes, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Support the implementation of Bechtel's Craft Professional Attract, Train, and Retain strategy, including tracking and reporting on program metrics.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in leu of degree.
  • 1+ years’ of experience in Industrial Relations / Labor Relations / Workforce Services, Human Resources, employee engagement, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Must have the right to work in the United States. 
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
