Major Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and other building officials.
- Inspect and validate drawing and code compliance of direct hire and sub-contractor scope onsite.
- Participate in planning in coordination meeting with the AHJ, Client, and Design Engineering Teams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address constructability and design challenges related to work execution or the permit process.
- Provide comprehensive field engineering support to superintendents and project personnel, ensuring adherence to cost and schedule objectives
- Develop work plans, perform material take-offs, create material requisitions, perform and document quality control inspections, assist in resolving design and construction conflicts related to the installation of commodities
- Assure procedural compliance for work being completed in the field
- Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on site.
- Oversee, interface, and coordinate with subcontractors and subcontractor work efforts. Assist in the management of subcontract changes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, city planning, architecture, or a related subject from an accredited university; or in lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of progressive construction/planning/permitting experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient Knowledge of Internation Building Code
- Proficient Knowledge of Ohio Building Code
- Basic understanding of Site Development and Site Planning
- Computer literacy with the ability to work efficiently within the Microsoft Suite
- Basic experience with drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD
