The BAU (Business as Usual) Technical/ Business Lead will translate business requirements and user needs into actionable technical plans and solutions. The BAU Technical/ Business Lead will act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating communication and decision-making within a project designated under Business-as-Usual projects within the branch. The BAU Technical/ Business Lead will guide the development team on technical decisions, ensuring the project adheres to technical standards, and collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Project Manager Officer to achieve project goals, while maintaining a strong focus on technical implementation and quality throughout the project lifecycle.


DUTIES OF THE POSITION


The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Independently develop and govern the project's technical architecture and solution design, making executive decisions on the selection and provision of all necessary technologies.

  • Strategically translate technical roadmaps and architectural decisions into clear business outcomes and objectives, ensuring comprehensive alignment between technology investments and organizational goals.

  • Proactively identify and address complex technical issues, escalating critical problems to the Project Manager and/or vendors as necessary.

  • Document technical/business workflows and solutions associated within the project under the guidance of the PM and review them with the Business teams.

  • Oversee the timely execution and delivery of all technical project deliverables according to specifications

  • Act as the key point of contact to ensure synergy and alignment of actions across multiple technical and business units assigned to the same project.

  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy

  • Work with the project owner on Creating a Business Requirement Document (BRD) for each project to make sure that it contains all project's owner requirements.

  • Coordinate with Project Sponsor to elect resources for User Acceptance Testing (QA) and make sure that the tests comply with the project requirements.

  • Make sure that the testing is well documented and the project owner approves the results.

  • Provide the necessary documentation to the Change Management Team in order to move the project code between Development, Certification and Production Environments.

  • Determine and establish the technological approach, ensuring adherence to Bank's Security and Compliance best practices

  • Participate in the following:

1 - Support in the development of technical vision

2 - Suggest architectural models

3 - Evaluate appropriate technologies (languages, tools) for projects

  • Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees

  • Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position

  • Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)

  • Travel as required

  • Provide coverage for other positions as requested

  • Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In the performance of their duties, all Bci - Miami Branch staff members are required to comply all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1979, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the Bank Bribery Amendments Act. Additionally, all staff members must comply with in the Bciโ€™s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics and other policies of Bci which are either currently in place, or which may become effective during the staff memberโ€™s employment.

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:


COMPUTER:

Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Smartsheet.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience required


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
  • Relevant professional technical certifications (e.g., in Python, SQL, or technical architecture) preferred

  • Certification in a relevant Agile framework (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe) preferred


EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience applying Agile methodologies in technical project delivery.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the GitHub platform for version control and collaboration.

  • Deep expertise in relevant programming languages, including SQL and Python, and familiarity with systems/platforms such as GoAnywhere.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a technical/business analyst or lead role, translating business requirements into technical plans within the banking or financial services industry

  • Proven ability to effectively bridge technical strategy with business goals, demonstrated through successful project leadership and executive reporting.

  • Analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish
