Job description

Powering the Future: Installing the Energy Systems That Keep the World Moving!

Our Field Service / Operations team is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Battery Installation Technician to join our growing crew. In this hands-on role, youll be responsible for installing, removing, and maintaining industrial battery systemsincluding lead-acid, lithium-ion, and other energy storage technologiesat customer sites nationwide. Your work will directly support the reliable operation of critical power systems in industries where uptime is everything.


What Youll Do:

Deliver Expert Installations: Safely install, remove, and replace industrial battery systems, cabinets, and related equipment, following manufacturer specs and company procedures.

Build With Precision: Assemble battery strings, route cabling, and torque connections to exact standards using proper tools and PPE.

Test and Verify: Perform battery testingcapacity tests, voltage readings, and thermal checksto ensure systems meet performance standards.

Prioritize Safety: Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety protocols while working around high-voltage DC systems.

Collaborate for Success: Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and customers to complete installations on time and to the highest quality.

Document Everything: Maintain accurate installation records, including serial numbers, torque logs, and test data.

Operate Equipment Safely: Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling tools to move heavy battery systems.

Keep It Clean: Perform site cleanup and ensure the proper disposal or recycling of removed batteries.

Troubleshoot in the Field: Assist in diagnosing and resolving basic electrical or battery-related issues during installation.

Stay Ahead of the Curve: Participate in ongoing training to keep up with evolving battery technologies and industry best practices.


What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in UPS battery installation, telecom battery systems, or industrial electrical work preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of DC power systems and electrical safety.

  • OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E training preferred.

  • Forklift certification a plus.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.


Work Environment:
  • Frequent travel to customer sites across various industries.

  • Work in data centers, industrial facilities, and mechanical/electrical rooms.

  • Exposure to high-voltage equipment and heavy materials.
