Job description

Plano-Coudon is seeking an experienced Superintendent with base building expertise. You'll be responsible for managing the field, developing and driving the schedule, and collaborating with the project team to deliver projects that are on schedule, within budget, exceed client expectations, and are constructed with the highest standards of safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and coordinate daily jobsite activities such as subcontractors and material deliveries.
  • Supervise direct hire labor including laborers, carpenters and/or temporary labor.
  • Communicate job progress to all parties involved and resolve construction issues as required to maintain progress of the project.
  • Administer personnel policies, procedures, and practices of all job site workers.
  • Participate in preconstruction tasks including constructability reviews, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Participate in project interviews or other meetings required to secure future work.

Manage the On-Site Safety Program

  • Implement and enforce all safety requirements, regulations, and laws.
  • Lead weekly Tool Box safety talks with all jobsite personnel.
  • Coordinate regularly scheduled safety inspections with P-C's independent safety consultant and represent PC in the event of an OSHA/MOSH inspection.
  • Distribute reports to subcontractors and ensure that all deficiencies are abated immediately.
  • Manage MSDS sheets in accordance with OSHA requirements and regulations for project sites.
  • Understands the Superintendent's key role in managing risk for Plano-Coudon.

Project Scheduling

  • Participate in the development of the project schedule, identify project milestones, and ensure that contractual requirements will be met.
  • Take ownership for driving the schedule and overcoming obstacles with vigor.
  • Create 2 week look ahead schedules and review with subcontractor foreman on a weekly basis.
  • Notify subcontractors in writing of any schedule deficiencies or delays to the critical path schedule (i.e. lack of manpower or late material/equipment deliveries).
  • Coordinate with project manager when contractual pressure needs to be applied to subcontractors failing to meet project requirements.
  • Deliver schedule updates as required at Owner Progress Meetings.

Project Documentation

  • Maintain project daily field reports, progress photos, and project file folders.
  • Maintain an updated record set of contract documents at the project site including all as built information and up to date field changes and/or modifications to the project.
  • Request, collect and keep on file subcontractor manpower reports.
  • Utilize Procore for documentation activities.

Quality Control

  • Ensure that the work being put in place meets the requirements of the project documents and deliver quality workmanship from the tradesmen in the field.
  • Review approved submittals and cross reference between trades to ensure that work conforms to contract requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct quality control inspections and document the results on a regular basis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience as a superintendent in commercial construction required.
  • Experience on projects from $15 - $50 million required.
  • Base building experience required.
  • Experience with multifamily or lab/life sciences and hospitals preferred.
  • An unwavering commitment to safety required.
  • Must have a client service approach and a relationship orientation to working with subcontractors and other partners.
  • Proficiency with Procore and P6 strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION:

  • Base salary - $90,000-$160,000
  • Vehicle and phone allowance
