Job description

Position title: Barracks Manager

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with the overall management and daily operations of the barracks facility to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly living environment for all residents.
  • Manage all resident check-in and check-out procedures, including room assignments, issuing linens, and briefing residents on facility rules and amenities.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date berthing matrix and personnel tracking system for all residents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resident customer service, addressing and resolving lodging issues, maintenance requests, and other concerns in a timely manner.
  • Operate and maintain the barracks key security program, to include programming, issuing, and retrieving key cards, and troubleshooting electronic door lock systems.
  • Coordinate with facility maintenance personnel (e.g., NAVFAC, SSC) to report and track all maintenance and repair trouble calls to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of barracks rooms, common areas, and grounds to ensure compliance with safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and maintaining an adequate inventory of all logistical, cleaning, and office supplies required for barracks operations.
  • Provide support for official command functions, graduation events, and student arrivals, which may require work during evenings and weekends.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the barracks.
  • At least three (3) yearsโ€™ experience in general office, facilities, or lodging administration, to include experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience managing, tracking, and ordering logistical and office supplies for a facility.
  • Demonstrated experience with facility key security programs, including programming and maintaining electronic key card systems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and trouble calls with maintenance departments or external agencies.
