Midas Hospitality is seeking a Bar Back/Busser/Food Runner to join our team at Hotel Canandaigua located in Canandaigua, NY who can work in collaboration with our other staff to ensure prompt, elevated, and hospitable service. The Bar Back will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked for service, and aid the Bartenders with any needs they might have. The Barback will be knowledgeable of all menu items, steps of service, and be comfortable in a high volume setting. It is important that the Barback shows a passion for the guest experience and a willingness to learn.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assisting in all opening and closing duties with the Bartender and Restaurant Staff. This will entail stocking liquor, beer, wine, and any other items that might not be listed, checking for proper garnishes, glassware is ready for service, and any duties that might be assigned.
  • Assist in greeting guests with water.
  • Assist in delivering food to tables or patrons behind the bar.
  • Follow all alcohol service laws and safety standards.
  • Have a sense of urgency, while maintaining high service standards.
  • Monitoring and refilling of ice, liquor, wine, beer, napkins, straws, and any other items that might not be listed.
  • Maintain cleanliness behind the bar but also for our guests. This entails wiping down counters, removing plates and glasses, sweeping, mopping, and any other items that might not be listed.
  • The ability to assist our bartenders and restaurant staff with the creation of drinks as needed for prompt and hospitable service and assisting with food orders when needed.
  • When needed, take orders, use the POS system, execute payment, and any other items that might not be listed.
  • Be a warm and hospitable presence for our guests.
  • Be able to lift up to fifty pounds and be in an environment with constant motion, primarily standing, and the continuous ability to crouch.
  • Any duties not listed as assigned by the Manager on Duty within reason to accommodate the needs of our business and our guests is expected.
  • Nights, weekends and holidays required.
