Job description

Bar Manager — Neenah, Wisconsin

About the role: We're hiring a Bar Manager to lead bar operations inside a busy hotel restaurant and lounge in Neenah, Wisconsin. You'll run the floor, build a strong team, and make sure every guest gets a great drink and an even better experience. This is a leadership role for someone who knows that a well-run bar shows up everywhere: in the guest review, the team's stability, and the bottom line.

What you'll manage

  • Lead daily bar operations across the restaurant and lounge, setting the pace and the standard for service.
  • Hire, train, and develop bartenders and barbacks, building a team that performs under pressure.
  • Build staff schedules that match guest demand, control labor cost, and keep coverage tight during peak hours.
  • Manage beverage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to limit waste and protect margins.
  • Oversee beverage quality and consistency, from craft cocktails to local beer and wine pours.
  • Drive bar sales through smart menu decisions, seasonal features, and upsell coaching for the team.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and full compliance with Wisconsin alcohol service laws.
  • Track POS reporting, costs, and sales data, then act on what the numbers tell you.
  • Handle guest concerns directly and turn tough moments into reasons people come back.
  • Partner with kitchen and hotel leadership to keep food and beverage service running as one.

Required qualifications

  • 2+ years of bar or beverage management experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and retain a service team.
  • Strong grasp of inventory control, cost management, and beverage profitability.
  • Working knowledge of Wisconsin responsible alcohol service requirements and food safety standards.
  • Comfortable with POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic sales reporting.
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and decisive during high-volume shifts.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a hotel food and beverage operation.
  • Knowledge of cocktail programs, craft beer, and wine, including local Wisconsin offerings.
  • A track record of growing bar sales or improving beverage margins.
  • Familiarity with menu development and seasonal beverage programming.

About the team

This is a hotel bar and restaurant that serves travelers and Neenah regulars side by side. The pace is real, the team takes pride in the work, and leadership backs the people who run the floor well. You'll have the room to shape the bar program and the support to do it right.

Work schedule

On-site role with a mix of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. Standing, walking, and lifting are part of the job.
