Commercial Lender Security State Bank Wanamingo Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial clients through relationship‑based banking. It requires maintaining strong credit quality and expanding deposit funding. The role is customer facing, requiring sound judgment in the extension of credit and business development while keeping a relationship‑first focus. Emphasis is placed on accurate credit administration, complete documentation, and proactive management. The position provides high‑level customer service and works collaboratively with internal and external customers to support the Bank’s overall growth objectives.

Essential Duties
  • Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial clients
  • Generate new business in loan and deposit growth through relationship‑based networking, referrals, and community involvement
  • Structure credit requests to fit client needs while maintaining acceptable levels of risk and profitability
  • Actively source and retain client deposit relationships to support funding and margin stability
  • Prepare complete and accurate credit writeups and maintain complete file documentation
  • Collaborate with credit administration and operations to process loans and customer requests
  • Primary point of contact for client requests and provide responsive service and ongoing guidance
  • Participate in loan committee meetings, internal reviews, and audits as required
  • Have knowledge in multiple facets of real estate lending
  • Process and analyze documents received for all types of loans; load and categorize documents into the loan origination and core banking software
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of lending experience
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation requirements and compliance standards
  • TRID, HMDA, Fair Lending, RESPA, REG B knowledge
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple files and projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective and professional communication skills, capable of interacting with borrowers, lenders, analysts, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
