About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to develop new investment management and advisory business for Commerce Trust by partnering with appropriate business line leaders and staff at Commerce Bank and through outside contacts and sources.
Essential Functions
  • Market proprietary fixed income and equity strategies, including investment advisory services, custody and other institutional trust capabilities to reach stated annual new business fee goals
  • Ensure that quality materials, research and proposals are prepared and/or delivered to prospective clients and Commerce Trust partners on a consistent and timely basis to strengthen our sales process and results
  • Follow up on leads generated through various marketing programs and initiate ideas for marketing efforts that result in the identification of prospects for investment management services
  • Ensure that services provided by Commerce Trust Company (CTC) are delivered in a consistent and timely manner by client service team
  • Support Business Development Officer initiatives by managing and tracking a high volume of prospect opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and progression through the sales pipeline
  • Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate prospect, client, and communication data to support pipeline visibility, forecasting, and relationship management
  • Conduct territory and market research to identify potential prospects, industry trends, and areas for strategic growth
  • Assist in managing/reviewing the Request For Proposal (RFP) response process, coordinating internal contributions and customizing responses tailored to prospect needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of client management software, such as Salesforce preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of the investment field
  • Intermediate understanding of sales, business development, or client relationship processes, with an interest in supporting pipeline and opportunity management
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Education & Experience
