Idaho First Bank is recruiting for a full-time Bank Operations Specialist II. The successful candidate will have superior communication skills and a desire to assist customers with their account maintenance and transactions. This person will work with individuals via telephone or other electronic communication methods.

The Bank Operations Specialist II is also responsible for aiding with backroom operational duties including performing new/revised deposit account verifications.

This position assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Provides internal customer service and operational support.
  • Performs bank-wide new/revised deposit account verifications by ensuring that accounts are opened in compliance with bank procedures and required documentation has been properly completed and scanned.
  • Reviews core system daily reports to ensure accuracy of data input.
  • Performs daily tasks including performing bill pay fraud monitoring and OFAC screening.
  • Assists with bank operations certifications.
  • Reviews daily OFAC reports and certifies OFAC hits in the core system.
  • Uses fraud and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering software to monitor customers’ accounts.
  • Processes levies, subpoenas, and garnishments.
  • Assists with filing and scanning.
  • Re-issues compromised and expiring debit cards.
  • Processes incoming/outgoing wires
  • Processes Reg E Disputes and ACH WSUD.
  • Understands ACH transactions, rules, returns, NOC, and monitoring
  • Processes daily non-post, NSF Returns, NOC, and Fed Returns.
  • Reviews daily GL and BanControl outages and corrects, balances ATM and Teller GLs
  • Process check adjustments, large item returns, and exceptions
  • Completes various other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin, and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. (Work related experience should consist of cash handling, branch and loan operations and customer service through a financial institution).
