Bank Operations Specialist II


Idaho First Bank is seeking a full-time Bank Operations Specialist II to support critical deposit operations, payment processing, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance to help keep our organization running efficiently while ensuring the protection of our customers. 

This position is ideal for a banking professional who enjoys solving problems and navigating regulatory requirements while ensuring accuracy and collaborating across departments. The ideal candidate will bring with them prior banking operations experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service both internally and externally. 

This position ensures compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations. 

As a Bank Operations Specialist II you will perform a variety of operational functions that support the bank's daily activities while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable banking regulations including but not limited to the following:


Deposit Operations & Account Administration Duties:


Review all new and revised deposit accounts to ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.

Verify account documentation and ensure records are accurately maintained within the bank's imaging systems.

Review daily core system reports to validate data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.


Payments & Transaction Processing Duties:


Process account maintenance requests and support branch personnel with operational inquiries.

Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers accurately and within established timeframes.

Process ACH transactions, including returns, Notifications of Change (NOCs), Written Statements of Unauthorized Debit (WSUDs), and exception processing.

Process daily non-post items, NSF returns, Fed returns, check adjustments, and large item exceptions.

Review and reconcile general ledger entries, BanControl outages, ATM settlements, and teller-related balancing activities.


Fraud Prevention & Regulatory Compliance Duties:


Perform daily OFAC screenings, review OFAC reports, and certify potential matches.

Monitor customer activity utilizing fraud detection and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) systems.

Complete bill-pay fraud monitoring and assist with operational risk mitigation.

Process legal documents, including levies, subpoenas, and garnishments, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Support bank operational certifications and regulatory compliance initiatives.


Customer & Internal Support Duties: 


Provide operational support and guidance to branches and internal business partners.

Assist customers by phone and electronic communication regarding account maintenance and operational requests.

Reissue compromised and expiring debit cards.

Complete additional operational responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of one year of banking experience in deposit operations, branch operations, loan operations, or other financial institution operations.

Working knowledge of banking regulations and operational procedures.

Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications: 


Two or more years of banking operations experience.

Experience with ACH processing, wire transfers, Reg E disputes, OFAC compliance, deposit operations, or fraud monitoring.

Familiarity with core banking systems and general ledger balancing.

Knowledge of BSA/AML compliance requirements.

Experience supporting branch operations within a community bank or financial institution.
