Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Portfolio Manager will work as a member of the commercial banking team. They will be assigned to work directly with key Commercial Bankers within the primary markets covered by WesBanco. Individuals will be responsible for Commercial Real Estate ("CRE") and/or Commercial & Industrial ("C&I") relationships.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Professional demeanor in appearance, interpersonal relations, work ethic and attitude.

Possess clear, concise, effective written and oral communication skills to effectively express thoughts, ideas and concepts to bank employees and bank customers.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Experience with commercial lending systems and loan documentation preferred.

Solid understanding of all aspects of commercial lending, documentation and servicing. Must be able to recognize what is missing or needed.

Previous formal credit training or proven strong credit analysis skills, preferred.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret Commercial Construction Loan documents including notes, mortgages and construction loan Agreements.

Experience in analyzing financial statements from commercial clients to determine what is needed.

Experience in reviewing covenants to understand if the loan will be able to meet those covenants.

Experience with commercial draw agreements and make independent decisions to determine if it is the correct draw amount and if not must be able to call the client and explain the reasoning.

Must have experience working independently with the credit and underwriting personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Practices the standards of the Bank's Mission, Vision, and Pledge.

Prepares and coordinates Line of Credit annual renewals.

Prepares and coordinates annual relationship review.

Assists with clean-up and resolution of loan exceptions.

Maintains direct client contact to collect financial and other information, and manage portfolio.

Monitors construction loans and advances in conjunction with Secured Credit Administration (CRE).

Analyzes commercial construction draw packages submitted by commercial lending production areas for completion and accuracy and recommend approval or denial of requested draw amount. Specifically:

Receives, reviews and balances commercial construction draw documentation (budgets, inspection reports, title updates and lien wavers, etc).

Reviews all documentation and disbursements to ensure all funds have been disbursed properly.

Orders project inspections and title updates and reviews both for compliance.

Interfaces with customer on issues as they arise.

Monitors borrowing base certificates / AR aging's and Line of Credit advances in conjunction with Secured Credit Administration (C&I).

Assists in research on clients and prospects using market and industry research provided by outside vendors.

Attends problem loan meetings as a resource to the Commercial Banker.

Utilizes the market scorecard to address the Bank's performance in each state in which it operates.

Performs other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Ability to coordinate and/or manage multiple tasks in various stages is imperative.

Good time management skills.

Ability to work with others in a team environment and under occasional time constraints is a necessity.

Employee must be willing to learn, understand and promote Bank products and services.

Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to utilize Microsoft Office software.
