Job description

We are a full-service bakery and cafe that stocks our operation with scratch baked bagels and baked goods daily. Our bread team mixes, shapes and bakes all our doughs daily using organic, stone-ground, freshly milled flour. We are one of the only bakeries in the region to use a stone mill to mill organic, whole-kernel flour; our mill was custom built for us and our organic wheat berries are grown just for us! We are a tight-knit group of professionals all jointly committed to supporting our very high-volume, fast-paced bakery and cafes and we are seeking bread bakers to join our growing team! Baking positions require a love of bread and a willingness to learn. Professional baking experience working with fresh milled whole grain flour is a big plus BUT it is not essential we will train the right person! We are looking for bakers committed to producing high-quality, consistent work, both independently and with a team. Dependability and punctuality are the highest values a candidate can possess. The right candidate will have impeccable attention to detail and will be able learn from their peers and supervisors.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- bagel dough production, in multiple varieties
- heavy kettle and revolving tray oven work
- ability to scale and shape at a pace production requires
- general understanding of bakers math and fermentation
- ability to maintain prep levels, and scale for next day's production
- maintaining clean and organized work stations
- excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen

We are looking for someone who is able to lift 50lbs, and is comfortable in a commercial kitchen. This individual is happy in routine and is eager to learn and will find joy in creating a consistent product from start to finish. We're willing to train and don't require bread baking experience however, you must be passionate about bread and pastries, have a minimum of one year culinary experience, good references, excellent work ethic, and an ability to commit to early morning hours, weekends, and some holidays.
