Stone Creek Coffee Bakery produces scones, muffins, laminated dough products, and numerous other bakery items on a daily basis for all Stone Creek Coffee cafes and some Stone Creek Coffee partners. The Baker role exists as the main executor of bakery production. Bakers work together to build a culture of excellence, positivity and efficiency.


Role Aspects: 

  • SPACE MANAGEMENT - Bakers will keep their space clean and organized. Bakers clean, sanitize and keep up with food safety processes such as allergen management while they work.
  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL - Bakers are responsible for following detailed recipes. Bakers carefully weigh, mix, shape, cut and bake each product in a specific and purposeful manner in order to produce the best quality foods possible. 
  • URGENCY/PACING - The Stone Creek Coffee Bakery is a busy and lively space. Bakers move quickly, safely, smoothly, and smart. Careful pacing enables the Bakery to function as efficiently as possible.
  • TASK PRIORITIZATION - Order amounts and product mix varies from day to day. Bakers are given tasks to accomplish throughout the day, and the majority of their time is spent completing tasks on their own. A Baker knows how to move from task to task in the most efficient manner to fulfill the orders for each day with minimal direction. This includes a willingness to support coworkers by lending a helping hand with other tasks as is needed to promote an efficient workflow.
  • CLEAR COMMUNICATION - As days vary based on production needs, Bakers collaborate with each other to accomplish their work. Clear and caring communication contributes to a welcoming and inclusive Bakery culture.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Able to stand and walk for the majority of an 8 hour shift
  • Able to safely work with bakery equipment including but not limited to ovens, knives and stoves. 
  • Occasional exposure to heat and cool temperatures.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs

Compensation Structure: 

The Baker is an hourly position eligible for Stone Creek Coffee benefits, scaled based on Part Time or Full Time employment status. We offer a starting base pay of $16/ hour which may vary based on qualifications and experience.


At Stone Creek Coffee we conduct Pay and Performance Reviews three times annually which include compensation discussions. All compensation increase conversations are based on demonstrated value added to the team. 

When on-call, Bakers earn $2/hr "waiting time." If/when the Baker is reallocated to cover a call-out or open shift, the hours worked in the Bakery are paid at Hero rate (base wage + $2/hr).
