Job description

About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated clinical support professional for our Clinic Operations team in Federal Way. In this hourly, part-time role, you will support day-to-day clinic workflows by assisting providers, clinical staff, and patients to ensure efficient, safe, and compassionate care delivery. You will perform routine clinical tasks such as point-of-care testing (POCT), EKGs, blood draws, and medication administration, while also handling key front-desk responsibilities including answering phones, checking patients in, and rooming patients. This position is ideal for someone early in their healthcare career, with at least 1 year of relevant experience, who is comfortable multitasking between clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
  • Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct and document EKGs accurately, ensuring proper patient preparation and equipment use.
  • Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) safely, following infection prevention and specimen handling guidelines.
  • Administer medications as directed by providers and in accordance with clinic policies and scope of practice.
  • Room patients by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant medical history.
  • Check patients in at the front desk, verify demographics and insurance information, and update records in the system.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, route messages, schedule or reschedule appointments, and provide basic information to patients.
  • Assist with maintaining exam rooms and clinical areas, including cleaning, restocking, and equipment readiness.
  • Support providers and nursing staff during patient visits, procedures, and follow-up care coordination.
  • Document all patient interactions, clinical procedures, and administrative actions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing courteous, timely, and culturally sensitive service.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Operations team to improve workflows, reduce wait times, and enhance overall clinic efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an outpatient clinic, physician office, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience performing POCT, EKGs, blood draws, and basic clinical support tasks.
  • Ability to safely administer medications within applicable certification, licensure, and clinic policies.
  • Comfortable handling both clinical and front-desk duties, including answering phones and checking patients in.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and staff in English.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and ability to learn and use an electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Knowledge of standard infection prevention, safety, and patient privacy practices (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant, phlebotomy, or related clinical training program preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date, as required by clinic policy.
