Role Description

The Avionics TechnicianIII is a highly skilled technical professional responsible forindependently performing complex installation, troubleshooting, repair, andfunctional testing of avionics systems and components in support of VIPaircraft completion and maintenance activities. Working under minimalsupervision, this role serves as a subject matter expert, ensuring all work isexecuted in accordance with engineering data, maintenance manuals, companyprocedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. This position providestechnical guidance to junior technicians and supports the team in resolvingcomplex avionics issues while maintaining the highest standards of quality,safety, and efficiency.

Essential Job Functions

        Independentlyperform advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and system diagnostics oncomplex avionics systems and integrated aircraft components.

        Lead theinstallation, modification, and integration of avionics systems, wiring, andcomponents in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenancemanuals.

        Conduct andvalidate functional and operational testing to ensure system performance,reliability, and regulatory compliance.

        Analyze andresolve complex technical discrepancies related to system integration, wiring,and avionics performance.

        Interpret andapply engineering documentation, wiring diagrams, and technical data with ahigh level of accuracy and minimal oversight.

        Ensure all workperformed is properly documented, complete, and ready for inspection inaccordance with company procedures and regulatory standards.

        Maintain fullcompliance with all engineering changes, revisions, and modificationrequirements.

        Drive first-timequality by identifying root causes of discrepancies and implementing correctiveactions to minimize rework.

        Coordinate withLeads, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issuesand support program milestones.

        Provide technicalmentorship, guidance, and on-the-job training (OJT) to junior technicians tosupport skill development and team performance.

        Support materialplanning and workflow continuity by proactively identifying material needs andpotential constraints.

        Promote andmaintain a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to all safety policiesand procedures.

        Perform otherrelated duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications,Education and Experience

        High SchoolDiploma or GED required; avionics certification or technical training stronglypreferred.

        Minimum 5-7+years of progressive avionics experience within business aviation, aircraftcompletions, or military environments.

        Demonstratedexpertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams,and complex technical documentation.

        Proven experienceperforming advanced troubleshooting and system integration on aircraft avionicssystems.

        Ability to read,write, speak, and understand the English language.
