Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Avionics Technician:
#1. Minimum 5 consecutive years of recent avionics experience.
#2. Hands on experience performing Part 91.411 and 91.413 testing and recertification.
#3. Minimum 1 year of Garmin G1000 experience required.
#4. Experience troubleshooting, inspecting, testing, repairing, modifying, and installing aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including building and repairing wiring harnesses using soldering and crimping techniques.
#5. Experience working with aircraft wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, airworthiness directives, and avionics technical documentation.
Responsibilities for the Avionics Technician:
The Avionics Technician is responsible for the avionics and electrical repair of flight training aircraft. This position performs avionics inspections, troubleshooting, testing, repairs, installations, modifications, wiring harness fabrication, aircraft certifications, and simulator repairs while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and applicable FAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Build and repair wiring harnesses using soldering and crimping techniques.
- Perform Part 91.411 and 91.413 certifications and recertifications.
- Perform avionics modifications and installations.
- Repair aircraft flight simulators.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, parts catalogs, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Complete maintenance documentation and required paperwork.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Utilize common avionics test equipment and ground support equipment.
- Work flexible shifts as needed.
- Perform additional duties in accordance with the Repair Station Manual.
Requirements for the Avionics Technician:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
- FCC License is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 5 consecutive years of recent avionics experience.
- Experience performing Part 91.411 and 91.413 certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year Garmin G1000 experience required.
- Piper aircraft experience preferred.
- Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station preferred.
