Manager, Avionics Project Management

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Manager, Avionics Project Management (Level K) to join our Commercial Modifications & Maintenance (CM&M) team in Long Beach, CA.

This position is for a First-Line Manager responsible for leading new business and proposal efforts for the Avionics Program, with accountability for on-time performance and profit/loss results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly convey ideas, engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and foster collaborative working relationships across the enterprise. This position will also work closely with airline customers, sales teams, and other customer-facing stakeholders to support business objectives and customer needs. Candidates with prior program management experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management specialists supporting Avionics programs

  • Supervise employees performing business management activities within the Project Management function

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and establish operational goals

  • Secure resources for projects and processes, provide technical oversight of suppliers, and lead process improvement initiatives

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

  • Establish Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) goals and develop a PMBP improvement plan

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 10 + years' relevant work experience

  • Experience in contracts and proposals

  • Prior experience with project management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PMP certification preferred

  • Prior experience within commercial aviation, specifically avionics systems

  • Prior people management experience

  • MBA or equivalents leadership degree
