These are the qualities Air Wisconsin Airlines is searching for a Maintenance Controller to join our SOC in Appleton, WI. We are looking for someone with strong computer and communication skills who wants to use their A&P License. At Air Wisconsin, weโ€™re passionate about aviation and growth.ย 

Air Wisconsin Maintenance Controllers serve as the central coordination point for the airlineโ€™s technical operations. Maintenance Controllers utilize their knowledge of aircraft systems, mechanical experience, and good judgement to ensure safe and airworthy aircraft are made available to the flight operation in the most efficient manner possible. They also serve as the primary point of contact within the company for matters related to aircraft servicing.

Starting pay for this position is $75,000 annuallyย 

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring safe and airworthy aircraft are available for scheduled flight operations.
  • Directs contingency maintenance activity during flight operations.
  • Utilizes both company and non-company maintenance personnel to provide required maintenance services.
  • Interface with Dispatch, Flight Operations, and Crew Services groups to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinates and tracks line maintenance scheduling and workload planning.
  • Administers and controls use of aircraft Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL).
  • Prepares Special Flight Permits (Maintenance Ferry Flights).
  • Creates and maintains operational reports.
  • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Office software.
  • Strong communication skills. (Phone, email, in person)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high stress environment.
  • Good judgement and ability to work independently when required.
  • Due to contractual requirements with our clients, this position requires the ability to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check and meet all federal contract qualification standards, including those necessary for certification prior to performing covered duties. Applicants must also satisfy applicable TSA/federal aviation security requirements.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in aviation management, engineering, or maintenance. Equivalent knowledge and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2-4 years of maintenance experience in a FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operation.
  • Previous Maintenance Control Experience
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • CRJ-200 experience.
