Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW: Turbine Controls MRO, a VSE Aviation Company (“TC MRO”) is a globally recognized maintenance, repair and overhaul facility with over 180 employees and more than 45 years of expertise in engine component and accessory repair services. Our locations in Bloomfield, Connecticut and Miramar, Florida service original equipment manufacturers, airlines, engine centers, asset managers and government agencies supporting components and LRU's for commercial, military, airframe and industrial applications. Our focus on customer satisfaction, process improvement, quality, delivery and competitive pricing has made TC MRO a recognized leader in the aerospace industry.

SUMMARY: The Aviation Accessory Technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assemble fuel controls, governors, and fuel, oil or pneumatic accessories.                                  
  • Test fuel controls, governors, and fuel, oil or pneumatic accessories.   
  • Utilize hand tools daily.
  • Utilize specialty tools for precision measurements daily.
  • Read and interpret technical data and drawings.
  • Operate test equipment as needed to ensure components pass function test.
  • Verify that all components are tested to the appropriate specifications to ensure airworthiness.
  • Troubleshoot components failing test or set up to determine root cause of failure.
  • Generate data plates for components completed with use of a laser system.
  • Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :                                     

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • 2+ years of relevant/technical work experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and test equipment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, component maintenance manuals (CMMs), and engineering drawings.
  • Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic computer operating skills.

PREFFERED REQUIREMENTS:                                     

  • 3+ years of technical work experience in aviation maintenance, MRO, or accessory repair. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

OTHER: The selected applicant will be subjected to a background check and DOT drug testing.
