Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator in Port Fourchon, LA. This is a 6-12 month contract opportunity, working within a Wood Client operations and facilities. The ideal candidate should live within a 50-60 mile radius and has offshore and aviation logistics experience in the oil and gas industry.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate multiple vessels across several spreads from Gulf of Mexico to quayside to operation's facilities
  • Create, maintain and distribute cargo manifests for each vessel and each point-to-point transit
  • Direct communication with internal logistics teams, operations teams and vendors
  • Effective coordination in the movement of equipment to and from the shorebase to vendor facilities
  • Monitor trucking and hauling of equipment between the shorebase, Client's facilities and vendor facilities
  • Communication with local vendors to schedule and perform required tasks as well as request quotations
  • Provision of necessary personnel, craneage, forklifts, trucking, etc. as required
  • Quayside activity planning and management
  • General quayside supervision
  • General inspection of inbound and outbound cargo to ensure packaging is suitable and no damage is visible
  • Equipment and material is checked against shipping documentation; receipt and signage of equipment and materials upon arrival
  • Monitor Start-Up Work
  • Partake in daily operations meetings
Skills / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+  years logistics experience preferably to support offshore
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
