What is aviation logistics?

Aviation logistics refers to the planning, coordination, and management of the flow of goods, services, and information within the aviation industry. This includes everything from handling aircraft parts and fuel, to managing cargo shipments and ensuring timely maintenance. Professionals in aviation logistics ensure that airlines and airports operate efficiently by optimizing supply chains, inventory, and transportation. Their work is crucial for minimizing delays and maintaining safety standards in both commercial and cargo aviation operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in aviation logistics, and why are they important?

To thrive in Aviation Logistics, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of supply chain management, and typically a relevant degree or industry certification such as IATA or APICS. Familiarity with logistics management systems, inventory tracking software, and aviation-specific ERP platforms is crucial.
