GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Logistics Manager enables new flows and projects integration in EssilorLuxottica’s North America Distribution Centers leveraging a customer-driven approach.  The Sr. Manager is part of the Logistics Special Projects and Integration team and drives integration and project implementation for EssilorLuxottica Group as well as the Optical and Retail industries, primarily in N.A. with the objective to inspire global best practices.

The Sr. Logistics Manager collaborates with N.A. Distribution Center Operations and Logistics shared service functions (Logistics Engineering, Business Systems, IT, Finance, Planning, Transportation, RX ops, etc.) to support EssilorLuxottica’s Retail, Wholesale and eCommerce businesses. The Sr. Manager collaborates also with corporate teams and other geographies to implement best practices and work on international projects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimizes North American Distribution Centers while evaluating the trade-offs between service, quality and cost,
  • Drives ideation and evaluation of concepts, prototyping and then launches innovations.
  • Converts a good idea into a reality to deliver value.
  • Aligns with North American Logistics staff on business needs and objectives.
  • Evaluates and identifies advancements in the industry to improve customer/user satisfaction and reduces operating expenses.
  • Uses data analytics to prioritize opportunities and quantify impact.
  • Prioritizes enhancements, quantifies justification and builds business cases (as needed)
  • Realizes expected efficiency gains from system enhancement(s).
  • Harmonizes the alignment between distribution operations and WMS business systems teams to maximize productivity and throughput.
  • Drives and supports the design and enhancements of WMS and distribution processes.
  • Eliminates inefficiencies or service gaps in N.A. Distribution Centers.
  • Colloborates with EssilorLuxottica Global Innovation/Engineering/Supply Chain and Logistics teams to share best practices.
  • Develops internal an external network to drive value creation.
  • Takes an active part of the 3 Year Plan and Annual Budget process supporting the internal process improvement and cost reduction plan supporting Finance and Operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Logistics environments with a focus on optimizing processes
  • Expert knowledge of Distribution Operations processes and Warehouse Management Systems capabilities
  • Experience in design, optimization, reengineering processes
  • Projects/Program Management experience
  • Lean & Six Sigma experience
  • Visionary/Strategic minded
  • Ability to challenge status quo and strive for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex organization with different Pillars
  • Strives in a fast pace environment
  • Able to work in environment with international objectives and matrix relationships in a multinational environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Masters Degree in Business, Logisitics or Engineering
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management Systems (WM-AFS/FMS)
  • Retail and Manufacturing industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of Distribution Center Automation
