IT TechnicianJob Summary

The IT Technician provides first-level technical support for end users while assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual (AV) systems. This role supports Windows-based workstations, software applications, conference room technology, and related equipment to ensure reliable technology services for faculty, staff, and administrative personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and user account issues.
  • Deploy new computers and manage IT and AV equipment inventory.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot conference room AV systems, displays, projectors, audio equipment, and video conferencing technology.
  • Provide AV support for meetings and special events as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, warranty service, and vendor support.
  • Document support activities and collaborate with IT staff to improve technology services.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of IT support, desktop support, or AV support experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and desktop hardware.
  • Basic knowledge of audiovisual systems, including conference room technology and video conferencing platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or similar collaboration platforms.
