At MediaNet AV, you'll be part of a team that delivers exceptional service and cutting-edge technology to clients, making a real impact in the AV industry.Role OverviewThe AVL Installation Technician plays a key role in supporting installation projects, training clients post-installation, and providing ongoing support as they use AV systems. This position involves hands-on installation tasks, technical configuration, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service. Tasks vary by project, a strong applicant is flexible, troubleshoots efficiently, and is a positive reflection of MediaNet AV at all times.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Preparation
  • Review system designs and Statements of Work (SOWs) for each upcoming project.
  • Provide preliminary programming of system components, particularly Q-SYS and IP products.
  • Configure rack enclosures, cable management, and housed equipment per system design at MediaNet AV's office.
Cable Management
  • Follow the created cable schedule, or assist with building one: including cable paths, pulls, termination, and labeling.
  • Read and execute detailed project schematics and cable schedules to document cable paths and connections accurately.
On-Site Installation
  • Perform installation tasks as directed, including termination, configuration, and detailed technical work (task list varies per project).
  • Provide hands-on training and on-site assistance to clients as needed.
  • Ensure all job site tasks meet project specifications and the site is tidy and clean prior to completing close-out documents.
Inventory Management
  • Take inventory of van and Stow warehouse cable and supplies weekly.
  • Allocate project inventory to vans and job sites on a daily/weekly basis.
Communication & Reliability
  • Arrive at the office by 8:15 am for the daily kickoff meeting.
  • Respond to customer phone calls same-day when possible, and emails within 24 hours.
  • Provide comprehensive system training to clients as needed.
Personal and Professional Growth
  • Represent MediaNet AV well at all times.
  • Set monthly and yearly personal development goals to continually improve technical and customer service skills.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Training Requirements
  • Q-SYS Level 1: within first 6 months
  • Dante Level 1 and 2: within 12 months of hire
  • CTS: within 18 months of hire
Reporting StructureReports directly to the Project Manager, but may receive project leadership from the lead technician as appropriate.Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills with experience in AV installations, including Q-SYS systems and cable management.
  • Effective communication skills for client training and technical support.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in ensuring client satisfaction.
