Job Summary:
The Technical Writer will support the ITA AI Center of Excellence by producing clear, accurate, and accessible technical documentation for AI systems, applications, and processes. This role ensures documentation meets federal standards, user needs, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
*This position is contingent upon contract award.*
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Develop user guides, system manuals, standard operating procedures, and reports.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and subject matter experts.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
  • Ensure documentation complies with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Maintain version control and documentation repositories.
  • Support documentation updates for system changes and releases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):
  • U.S. Citizenship (required). Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI or higher background investigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4 years experience
  • Experience producing technical documentation for IT systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience documenting AI, data, or cloud-based systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments.
  • Experience supporting federal government programs.
  • Knowledge of documentation tools and content management systems.

Work Location: Remote preferred with occasional on-site support in Washington, DC, as required.
