The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is looking for our next Automotive Dispatcher/Production Manager, Located at Napleton's Valley Hyundai, the Automotive Dispatcher/Shop Manager plays a critical role within the store by Maximizing Technician Efficiency, Providing coaching and support to the technicians to effectively comply with the Sales and Warranty compliance procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help find suitable Technicians based on the needs of the store. Helps with interviewing and hiring of Technicians.

  • Track, enroll, and maintain each technician’s required manufacturer training for certification.

  • Adjust Technician schedules to meet work demands following the Union handbook.

  • Organize and prioritize work  based on customer time demand. Keep track of time commitments and report to the Advisors’ exceptions with advance notice of time expiration. Update status codes in the computer.

  • Maintain a complete understanding of work in the shop.

  • Walk the shop for frequent status updates on work in process and communicate to the Advisor’s length of time. Update status of work with status codes so all employees know the current disposition.

  • Get completion time commitments from the Technicians and document such commitments on the RO.

  • Ensure technicians adhere to the digital video and picture policy with each assignment.

      • Spot check the quality of the digital media and provide feedback.

  • Proofread each completed RO for Sales and Warranty compliance prior to new assignments. Coach technicians on improvement opportunities.

  • Follow up on special orders and update status codes daily.

  • Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.

  • Looks up operation codes and codes invoices as a back up to the Service Advisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment

  • A valid driver’s license

  • A clean driving record 

  • Proven track record of leading and developing associates

  • Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics

  • Understanding of CDK is a plus

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment 

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results

  • Strong analysis and decision making ability

  • Proficient computer skills
