Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support a leading industrial equipment manufacturer's electrical design team fully onsite in Clayton, NC. Position Overview
This role designs, develops, troubleshoots, and introduces electrical and electronic components and systems for mobile equipment applications. The Electrical Design Engineer works closely with a senior team leader who holds overall responsibility for each machine's electrical system, ensuring designs meet all requirements.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Designing component installations
  • Routing harnesses
  • Developing and maintaining electrical schematics
  • Interfacing with internal and external suppliers as well as other departments
  • Team Structure & Work Environment
  • Works closely with a senior team leader who is ultimately responsible for each machine's electrical system design
  • Primarily based in an office/cube environment, with regular meetings to discuss design challenges and resolutions
  • Periodic visits to the machine test area or manufacturing floor to evaluate designs in person

Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Mechanical, Agricultural, or Automotive Engineering (or a related field) required
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the automotive, construction, agricultural, aerospace/aviation, or similar mobile equipment industry is highly desired
  • Direct experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and introducing electrical and electronic components and systems in mobile applications, including cabling/harnessing and schematics in Creo
  • Experience with schematic development and maintenance, and with data management and release systems (EDS, Teamcenter), is highly desirable
  • Hands-on practical experience with related vehicle sub-systems such as hydraulics, engines, and transmissions is strongly desired
