Automation Engineer III | Louisville, Kentucky, United States Automation Engineer III - Transmission SCADA & Automation Team Location: Louisville, KY (On-site, 5 days/week) Job Type: Contract About the Role Join a dynamic engineering team focused on advancing Transmission SCADA and automation solutions for the utility sector. As an Automation Engineer III, you'll play a key role in programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing substation operations. This in-person position at the South Service Center is ideal for professionals eager to work hands-on with cutting-edge grid technologies and collaborate with industry leaders. Responsibilities - Program and troubleshoot RTUs for Transmission SCADA systems. - Develop and maintain points lists and perform in-depth system diagnostics. - Support automation projects, including IP connectivity for substations and scripting tasks. - Design, implement, and manage substation IED management solutions. - Partner with engineering and compliance teams to create, standardize, and enhance best practices. - Drive continuous improvement and innovation in substation automation. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (ABET-accredited). - 2-5 years of utility sector experience. - Hands-on skills with relays, RTUs, gateways, or smart grid devices. - Strong troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
