Are you passionate about automation and data quality? GAINSCO is seeking an Automation Engineer II to design, develop, and execute automated tests that ensure the reliability of data pipelines, ETL processes, and backend workflows. Working in an Agile environment, you'll collaborate with developers, data engineers, and QA teams to support frequent releases and deliver accurate, consistent data for business insights.
What does an AUTOMATION ENGINEER do?
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and data validations using SQL and APIs.
  • Enhance reusable automation frameworks for validating data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation across staging, ODS, and data warehouse layers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug defects, collaborating with developers for timely resolution.
  • Optimize existing automated scripts for scalability and efficiency.
  • Document test scenarios, execution results, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Support BI validation for reports and dashboards to ensure accurate insights.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and QA teams to implement enterprise data quality standards.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing as needed.

What is required?
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years developing automated test scripts using Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • At least 2+ years in Big Data or Data Warehouse testing; BI testing is a plus.
  • Strong SQL experience required.
  • Experience with Source Control Management (Git) and Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency with Selenium WebDriver or WebdriverIO.
  • API testing experience (Postman or JMeter preferred).
  • Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.
