Job description

Bachrodt Baraboo Motors is looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead our new and used vehicle finance department.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to structure deals, support the sales desk, coach the team, and jump in when needed to help close business.

We are looking for a strong automotive finance professional who is ethical, competitive, organized, and motivated by both profit and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

As Finance Director, you will:

  • Lead the new and used vehicle finance process.
  • Secure financing approvals through strong lender relationships.
  • Present and sell finance products, service contracts, GAP, and other protection products.
  • Help desk deals when needed.
  • Work with sales managers and sales consultants to structure deals correctly.
  • Step in with customers when needed to help close deals.
  • Coach finance and sales staff on deal structure, lender programs, paperwork, and product opportunities.
  • Review deals for accuracy, profitability, funding, and compliance.
  • Track finance performance, product penetration, approvals, funding, and chargebacks.
  • Maintain strong compliance with dealership, lender, state, and federal requirements.
  • Help create a positive, team-focused culture.
  • Protect the dealership’s reputation by treating customers fairly and professionally.
What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Automotive Finance Manager or Finance Director experience.
  • Strong knowledge of new and used vehicle financing.
  • Experience with prime, near-prime, and subprime lending.
  • Strong lender relationships.
  • Excellent closing skills.
  • The ability to help desk deals and support the sales floor.
  • Strong leadership and coaching ability.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong compliance habits.
  • A customer-first mindset.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Why This Role Is Different

This is not a sit-behind-the-desk-only position. We want someone who can lead the finance department, but also roll up their sleeves. If a deal needs help, you are willing to get involved.
